With heart open,
A softened forward stance,
Then a tumbling down into descent,
Spiralling into soot.
The ashes from all our yesterdays,
Lived and un-lived.
A calling on tomorrow.
Tears are the fabric softeners
Of the battle scars of our cares.
Now only an open soft heart remains,
A display of love.
Beneath it all is a surrender to Divine Will,
Where grace can find a way.
With infinite possibilities,
Our imaginings dance in a display before us.
Our power is all that we give energy to.
What we say and what we do,
How we live this life,
As manifestation of the personal.
External world projections of what lies within.
Our relationship to the whole,
Telling us where we began and where we are going.
Starting again so many times,
Always arriving back to the beginning.

This
is a great website for those interested in the idea of micro financing
in the developing world. Quoting from their website, Kiva offers visitors
a chance to lend money "to unique entrepreneurs in the developing
world. By choosing a loan on Kiva, you can sponsor a business and help
the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence.
Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive
email journal updates from the entrepreneur you've sponsored. As loans
are repaid, you get your loan money back." You have the option when
your loan is repaid to then withdraw the money you lend or to make a new
loan with it.
Please
be aware that you can lend safely to the Kiva project by credit card using
PayPal. You do not have to
be a registered user of PayPal
to benefit from the level of security PayPal
offers when making credit card payments. PayPal
supports Kiva in many ways, including the forfeiting their standard fee
for their service. That means that all the money you lend goes to the
lender and none of it goes to PayPal.
If
you decide to participate in Kiva, you are eligible for a free pack of
our Sacred Truth cards. Please take advantage of our Newsletter Special
as described above.

I believe you use mythological stories in both your mentoring course and your personal guidance work. Could you explain the significance of myth as far as the inner journey goes?
This Month's Response:The best way to answer this question is to quote some passages from the Introduction of my Chakra Journey book.
In Ancient Greece there was no word for word. Instead they used two words, Mythos and Logos. Mythos referred to the ability of words to evoke imagery. Logos referred to the ability of words to evoke cognition and logic. Both were used as a way to imagine the world...In todays world we see Logos...as the only way, while we see Mythos as a lie. If we want to say that a story is false, we say, Its just a myth. This points to our bias for Logos at the expense of Mythos...The soul abhors an imbalance. The ego has the tendency to over identify with Logos...Mytho, however is helpful to the ego. It nudges it to surrender its illusion of control and to understand its true relationship to soul...We cannot have Logos without Mythos or the other way around...Even science with its new discoveries on the workings of the brain understands this. Michael J. Gelb has written that the world's most creative thinkers did not necessarily stand out due to their high intelligence. Rather, it was their ability to be both imaginative and logical at the same time. We devalue Logos when we ignore Mythos. We limit Logos and reduce it to smaller and smaller areas of human experience. True Logos understands the imaginative subtleties of Mythos.
What exactly is Mythos or myth? Myth has always served a purpose in the human psyche and is still at work today. Well before computers, television and the Internet, there was story telling, fairy tales, legends and myths. For 200 millenniums we sat by the light of a fire and shared in the telling of stories. These stories were more than mere flights of fantasy used to entertain primitive minds. Their original purpose was not only to entertain but also to teach and to show listeners that they were not alone in their experiences. Whether dealing with anger or relationships, sexuality or family, there were stories being told and containing it all. They helped contain emotions on both a personal and collective level.
The stories also showed the way through and helped resolve issues. These ancient stories were like signpost providing a road map to a communally unified sense of meaning and purpose. Each story pulled everyone in. They addressed the ultimate issues of human destiny including love, family, birth, happiness, tragedy and death. In contrast to modern entertainment, which tends to separate the performers from the audience, story telling was a living, singing and weaving communal dance, in which everyone participated and found themselves contained and reflected.
Its also important to realize that these stories are living in us. Theyre deeply deeply rooted in our unconscious. Thats why they are so powerful. Theyre a pure form of imagination and as Carl Jung said, the chief content of the unconscious is imagination. Mythology is right there with that content. It activates the part of our mind that contemplates the enigmatic. It concerns itself with the transcendental and the sacred. Mythology is a doorway to the soul.
